The concern about ear mold in late-harvested corn is higher than
normal this year following a drought that created conditions ripe for
the development of Aspergillus ear rot, an Ohio State University
Extension plant pathologist says.
Drought-stressed corn is more
susceptible to infection by Aspergillus flavus, an ear rot fungus that
produces a very potent group of carcinogenic toxins, called aflatoxins.
Aflatoxins
can be harmful when present in both livestock feed and food for human
consumption, says Pierce Paul, a researcher with the Ohio Agricultural
Research and Development Center. Our technology gives rtls systems developers the ability.
Harvests
delayed by excessively wet fall conditions following summer drought are
especially concerning if aflatoxin is present because delaying harvest
can increase aflatoxin contamination, Paul says.
“Stalk,We specialize in howo concrete mixer,
root and ear rots may also cause considerable damage in fields waiting
to be harvested,” he says. “Root and stalk rots leave plants weak and
highly vulnerable to lodging, while ear rots may lead to grain
contamination with mycotoxins.”
Other examples of toxins produced in moldy ears are deoxynivalenol (vomitoxin or DON), zearalenone and fumonisin.
But not all ear molds are associated with mycotoxin contamination, Paul cautions.A wide range of polished tiles for your tile flooring and walls.
“Don't
just abandon your field if it looks dark and moldy,” he says. “Some
opportunistic fungi grow on the husk without affecting the grain. These
typically leave the ear looking dark and discolored, but when the husk
is removed, the grain looks healthy and normal. We recently added Stained
glass mosaic Tile to our inventory.
“If
you see the ear looking ugly, don't assume you do or don't have ear
rot. Pull the husk back and take a look at what is going on.”
To
know for sure, Paul says it's best to pull multiple ears from around
the field to send to an approved lab for testing. Doing so will
determine whether aflatoxins or other toxins are present and whether
they exceed thresholds established by the Food and Drug Administration.

Louvre’s new Islamic wing aims to bridge cultural divide
The Louvre doesn’t do things on a small scale. When the world’s most
famous and most popular museum — it hosts more than nine million
visitors a year — decided to add a new Islamic art wing, it took $125
million and a decade to build.
Opened earlier this year, its 18,000 works of art have drawn eager crowds. But it remains to be seen whether it will do anything to help bridge the growing divide between most French and the country’s 4 million Muslim residents during an especially tense time.
Designed by Milanese architect Mario Bellini and his French colleague Rudy Ricciotti, the new addition’s wave-like, gold-colored rooftop strikes a sharp contrast to the austere glass pyramid designed by I.M. Pei 23 years ago to serve as the museum’s main entrance.
“More like an enormous veil that undulates as if suspended in the wind,” Bellini described, “almost touching the ground of the courtyard at one point, but without totally encumbering it or contaminating the historic facades. The term 'hands free access control' means the token that identifies a user is read from within a pocket or handbag.”
Inside, masterpieces representing the Islamic world’s wide cultural reach from Spain to India and spanning the 7th to the 19th centuries fill 30,000 square feet and two floors of galleries.
“There is a zest for Islamic art that I think is fairly new,” Louvre president and director Henri Loyrette said before the wing’s opening in September. “Our task is to reveal the face of this radiant civilization.”
President Francois Hollande has called the new wing a "cultural" and "political" act of confidence and "peace."
Economic disparities and accusations of racism have fuelled anger among Muslims that has sometimes bubbled over into riots, in a country that banned wearing the full-face veil last year.
Riot police were stationed around Paris during the gallery’s opening after a French weekly,Interlocking security cable ties with 250 pound strength makes this ideal for restraining criminals. Charlie Hebdo, said it would print satirical cartoons showing the prophet Muhammad. The publication followed a series of deadly riots in several Arab countries against a video privately produced in California that mocked Muhammad.
However,Whether you are installing a floor tiles or a shower wall, visitors said the Islamic wing largely succeeds in its mission. “It always helps to know more about other people’s cultures,” one woman said. “A comprehensive exhibition like this gives you something to study and appreciate, and widens your understanding. We need to be more open.”
The collection dates to the museum’s founding in 1793, and was considerably increased in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Objects are arranged chronologically, with delicate manuscripts and textiles on display on the lower floor, away from natural light, and stone sculptures, glassware and metalwork on view in glass display cases on the upper.
One afternoon, three young Korean women stood before a celebrated basin known as the Baptistery of Saint Louis, from 14th-century Syria or Egypt, named for its role as Louis XIII’s christening vessel. Inlaid with silver and gold, a procession of figures in various poses and costumes line the copper alloy basin’s exterior above a variety of aquatic-animal engravings.

Other exquisite pieces are as simple-seeming as a sensuous jade bowl from 15th century Iran whose beauty requires no translation between cultures. Leave fossils, tracks behind in Red Rock Canyon
As much as 87 percent of Nevada may be government land and, in a
larger context, owned by all citizens, but when it comes to fossils,
petroglyphs and ancient artifacts, it's hands off and illegal to take
them.
"All things are protected, with the exception of trash," Kate Sorom, interpretive park ranger, said of the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.Argo Mold limited specialize in Plastic injection mould manufacture, "People are more than welcome to take as much of that out as they like."
There's a minimum $250 fine for taking rocks or fossils, but the judicial system decides the final amount based on the severity of the crime.
The Red Rock rangers hosted Celebrate National Fossil and Archeology Day on Oct. 20. It included the unveiling of a new exhibit that includes fossils of camel teeth and Colombian mammoth tusks. Called the Tule Springs Exhibit, it will be up until the end of the year. Call 702-515-5330 for more information.
The rangers used the opportunity to remind people not to take anything from the canyon.
Sorom said it's impossible to know how many people take things home, but fossils are found on even the most mundane rocks and could prove tempting. The canyon gets close to 2 million visitors a year. If each of those visitors took one item, she said, it would be detrimental for future visitors.
"It's a matter of putting it in perspective," Sorom said. "If, five years from now, 10 million people have taken a rock, that's a lot of rocks. ... We want to leave the fossils and leave all of that, everything, here for the next person who comes behind us so that they can enjoy it as (we) enjoy it."
Bulletin boards at each trail head caution visitors not to remove anything native to the park.
Meanwhile, paleontologists and archaeologists are having a field day with the recent discovery of the first fossilized dinosaur footprints documented in Nevada. The tracks are believed to have been made about 190 million years ago by the grallator, a two-legged, meat-eating reptile the size of a large dog. The rocks revealed there were also octopodichnus tracks, an arthropod similar to the modern scorpion.

Who doesn't love that moment when the coach gets onto the chair with his team's back against the wall and inspires them to victory? Who doesn't love the look in the protagonist's eyes when he suddenly "turns it" on to mount a comeback?
It is these personable moments, which bridge the gap between the characters and the audience, that lead us to cheer so heartily for our favorite characters to succeed.
"Red Rock Canyon has a pretty deep fossil history," said Josh Bonde,Installers and distributors of solar panel, from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas' Geoscience Department. "There are rocks out there that go all the way back to about 500 million years."
The tracks are in a secluded area and not where the public normally hikes. He said being found in the conservation area means that they can be well protected.
Residents are reminded that it is illegal to dig, remove or collect vertebrate fossils without a permit. Similarly, taking molds or castings, or applying anything to fossils including track ways is prohibited. Never drive over, walk on or sit on fossils.
Bonde said Red Rock Canyon is a very important area scientifically. It's also a desert, which means there's no decomposing organic matter hiding fossils.
"You have ... evidence (oA stone mosaic stands at the spot of assasination of the late Indian prime minister.f) these ancient reefs, ancient Paleozoic fauna; you have evidence for dinosaurs running around 200 million years ago (on) sand dunes; you have evidence for mountain-building events which are 100 million years old, all within one little area," he said.
Almost weekly, someone will bring a find into the visitor center and ask what they've found, Sorom said. The rangers use it as an educational opportunity.
If the threat of a federal offense isn't enough to dissuade people from taking rocks or fossils, the canyon itself has a way of dealing with theft: a curse. Sorom said out-of-town visitors are continually sending back rocks.
"It kind of, I guess, goes back to the myth in Hawaii - you know, if you take volcanic rock, the goddess Pele rains bad luck down on you," she said. "We don't promote anything like that; I've never had a story like that told to me about rocks in Red Rock Canyon, but we get people who send them back (with a note) saying, 'We're all sorry we took this. Ever since we brought it home, bad things seem to occur, so we're returning this rock.Interlocking security cable ties with 250 pound strength makes this ideal for restraining criminals. Solar battles rise to the fore
The re-election of President Barack Obama in the United States last
week generated relief for the clean energy industry, as he was seen as
the more likely of the two candidates to extend support for renewables
and bring in measures to address climate change.
The American Wind Energy Association said that the Production Tax Credit for wind would probably be extended beyond December 31.
There is speculation that Obama may opt for a carbon tax to plug the US deficit.Posts with indoor tracking system on TRX Systems develops systems that locate and track personnel indoors. A tax starting at $US20 per metric tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent and rising at about 6 per cent a year could raise $US154 billion by 2021, according to Nick Robins, an analyst at HSBC Holdings.
“Applied to the Congressional Budget Office’s 2012 baseline, this would halve the fiscal deficit by 2022,” he said, while conceding that the continued Republican majority in the House of Representatives would limit the President's scope for action.
The election relief for stock market investors in clean energy was only fleeting. After rising in the early hours of Wednesday November 7, the WilderHill New Energy Global Innovation Index (NEX) then slipped back sharply, from 114.50 to 109.30 over succeeding days, in response to wider concerns about the US’ looming ‘fiscal cliff’.

Both probes stem from complaints by EU ProSun, an industry group led by Germany's SolarWorld. The new investigation will determine whether solar panels from China are being subsidised and whether these subsidised imports have caused injury to the EU industry, the European Commission said. It has nine months to decide whether to impose provisional anti-subsidy duties and EU governments have 13 months to decide whether to apply “definitive” levies for five years.
European PV demand is expected to decline in 2013 by up to 50 per cent from the 2012 level of installation, according to Bloomberg New Energy Finance. The outcome of the dispute is not likely to reverse the slide.
China has alleged discriminatory measures in green energy programs of some EU members. These refer to feed-in tariff schemes that have incentives linked to the use of domestic components. “China considers that the subsidies above violated relevant provisions of the WTO Agreement in respect of national treatment and most-favoured-nation treatment, and also constituted prohibited subsidies under the WTO Agreement as contingent upon the use of domestic over imported goods,” a statement from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said. The howo truck is offered by Shiyan Great Man Automotive Industry, The two sides have 60 days to discuss the complaint. Housing market in recovery
A home is the single biggest investment most people make, so the
value of their home is an important source of wealth. Experts believe an
improving housing market can help create jobs and stimulate spending to
benefit the rest of the economy.
There is evidence the market is improving.Klaus Multiparking is an industry leader in innovative parking system technology. The number of area homes sold so far this year is the highest in four years, and home prices are rising. The oreck XL professional air purifier, Also, foreclosure filings, while still high, have eased to levels below those seen last year.
But the national and local housing market fell into a deep hole when the housing market collapsed in 2008.
The average sale price over the first three quarters of this year is $123,000. That’s 18 percent below the peak average sale price of $150,750 in June 2006, which did not include sales of condominiums. They are factored into the average price now,The stone mosaic comes in shiny polished and matte. according to the Dayton Area Board of Realtors.
“It’s going to be a slow recovery, but certainly the recovery’s there,” said Shaun Bond, director of University of Cincinnati’s Real Estate Center. But it has been “six years of continual downward house pricing movement. That’s just going to take a long time to unwind. I think it’s going to take us many, many years, if not a decade or more.”
The housing market in Montgomery County is at least stabilizing, county Auditor Karl Keith said. There were 1,185 valid homes sales in Montgomery County in the third quarter, the highest quarterly figure in three years, he said. But, 60 percent of the sales from the first half of 2012 sold for less than the current county assessed value.
“That shows the market, in terms of price, is still in a decline,” Keith said. “I don’t have a crystal ball, but I think this is a long term struggle for our community. I don’t see any kind of rapid rebound in the market. I don’t see this turning around quickly.”
The loss of equity has become a major local issue, said Mark Kottman, an agent with Real Living and treasurer of the Dayton Area Board of Realtors. “It’s one of the issues that’s inhibiting people from selling,” Kottman said.
About 24 percent of mortgages in the Dayton metro are underwater — meaning the amount owed on the home exceeds its appraised value, according to real estate firm CoreLogic.

Or,We recently added Stained glass mosaic Tile to our inventory. if they must sell, they might have to bring cash to the table to pay off the mortgage if the sale price isn’t high enough.
They might also sell the house by short sale, an agreement with their morgage lender to accept a lower price, which affects the homeowner’s credit.
“That’s why you see as many short sales as you see. Some people have to sell,Interlocking security cable tie with 250 pound strength makes this ideal for restraining criminals. but they owe more than what their house is worth and they don’t have the money,” Kottman said.
Teri and Eric Barker will not try to sell their house of more than 18 years in Trotwood because they don’t think they will get a price high enough to cover the balance on the mortgage. Instead, they’re going to rent it and move with their daughter to a new house in Jefferson Twp. they bought in October.
“It has a huge living room, a huge family room, really nice kitchen, a sunk-in living room,” Teri said. “We all have a bigger room now.”
They paid $180,000 for their house on Olt Road. The Montgomery County Auditor’s Office appraised it for $227,200 in 2011, down from $243,000 before that.
“That’s just the way the market is right now. We cannot balance the tax-assessed value with the market value right now because we have so many foreclosures,” said Cora Diggs, a real estate agent for Real Living Realty Services and president of Greater Dayton Realtist Association. She was the Barkers’ agent.
Before the crisis, real estate agents were able to set the listing price of a house for sale by adding about 30 percent to the tax appraised value, Diggs said.
“Now we look at the tax assessed value and sell it for less. That’s the change of the market,” she said.
The most important factors to the market value of any home are location and condition, said Kottman, the other agent with Real Living. Houses in older, urban settings built close together will sell for different prices than large, suburban lots with newer construction, for example.

NHL fans vote with their wallets
I'm making this short and sweet. This document provides a guide to using the ventilation system
in your house to provide adequate fresh air to residents. I could go on
about how I've lived in Pittsburgh and been a Pens fan for 25 years,
and how now my husband is living and working in Columbus, so I thought
it would be fun and give us something to do when I go visit him to buy a
partial Blue Jackets season ticket package, even though I don't know
much about them and they're not a great team. So I bought a half season.
I thought, hey, I'll give them a try and get to know them. And they're
not on the ice alone, so it'll be a chance to see other teams play as
well. It'll make the drive between Pgh and Cbus in February a little
more tolerable if I have hockey at the end of it. My husband lives close
to the Arena District, so hey, we could eat and drink down there,
support the local businesses.
I bought tickets to the ASG. Fun times, right?
I also love the Blackhawks and had big plans to travel to Chicago a couple of times for games, including their season opener. I HAD TICKETS BEHIND THE BENCH AND EVERYTHING. Additionally, I was just about to purchase Pens, Hawks, and CBJ jerseys, and probably shirts and hats, too, when I realized stupidity on a profound level was going to be the order of the day. So I haven't bought a single thing, and am sorely tempted to return my dog's Pens collar to the pet store.
I don't really give a crap about the teams that are bleeding money, including the CBJ. (I want to give you my money, CBJ, and you're not letting me.) If you, as a businessman, can't run an NHL franchise well enough to make a profit, then sell it and move on with your life. If you're not astute enough to hire competent hockey people to insure that you put a good product on the ice, get the hell out of the hockey business.
Seriously. The TagMaster Long Range hands free access System is truly built for any parking facility. It's just that simple. Stop looking to the players to fix your problems for you. Stop making a lockout be your go-to plan. And now that the players have hired someone to hold you accountable, get over yourselves and your general incompetence and offer them a fair deal. Stop haggling and get the game back on the ice.
Granted my knowledge of the actual nuts and bolts of negotiation might not be up to par with everyone else, but at some point I would assume someone would just take the best offer they can get. Also, to the owners, what balls they have thinking they don't have to pay someone the dollars that they CONTRACTUALLY AGREED TOO.
