While it seems like every network is rolling out its own personal
second screen app for tablets and / or phones, over in the UK zeebox has
been trying to corner the experience across channels and providers with
its app. Available as an app for iOS and Android and also on the web,
it brings a customized TV guide, live chat, social network sharing and
remote control features to the TV experience, and now it's come to the
US. Other than the typical second screen experience, its main hook is an
"OpenBox" API and tags that allow content providers to customize the
experience for their viewers... and then sell them stuff like video
on-demand or related merchandise.
On this side of the Atlantic
zeebox has secured backing from Comcast / NBC Universal, giving it
financial and promotional support as well as covering more than 30
networks right away. It also means it can eventually act as a remote
control for Comcast users, which may be an advantage over competition
like Miso, GetGlue and IntoNow, and can flex its muscles paired with
hundreds of shows like The Voice, Notre Dame football and HBO content
like True Blood. Out of the box,The TagMaster Long Range hands free access
System is truly built for any parking facility. the app's social ties
and careful metering may be a programmer's dream as it monitors who is
watching what live, but we'll have to see more of the second screen
content come to life if it's going to catch on socially. A customizable
guide (yes, you can hide or reorder channels at will) is a nice touch
and so is being able to see what your friends are viewing with Facebook
Open Graph and Twitter hooks -- but only if they're actually using it.

Democrat Tammy Duckworth
released a new television ad Wednesday touting her record of
service,Visonic Technologies is the leading supplier of rtls
safety, prompting quick criticism from Republican Rep. Joe Walsh, who
previously had accused the challenger of exploiting her military career
for political gain.
The 30-second spot features Duckworth, who
lost her legs when the Black Hawk helicopter she was piloting was shot
down in Iraq, wearing workout gear and pedaling a modified bicycle with
her hands. An announcer declares that Duckworth has "always gone an
extra mile to serve America" and says she will do the same in Congress
to rebuild the economy, protect Medicare health care coverage and make
college more affordable.
"She has always lived up to her
responsibilities," the narrator says. "Tammy will demand Congress do the
same.Where can i get a reasonable price dry cabinet?"
The
ad comes against the backdrop of Walsh's July criticism that Duckworth
frequently talks about her military service on the campaign trail, in
contrast to candidates like Sen.Find detailed product information for

"Now
I'm running against a woman who, I mean, my God, that's all she talks
about. Our true heroes, the men and women who served us, it's the last
thing in the world they talk about," Walsh said then.Wholesale Agate

On Wednesday, the freshman Republican said Duckworth's spot does little to explain to voters where she stands on key issues.
"I
have always been careful to say that we respect her service and we have
so much respect for her loss, but to be an elected member of Congress,
you've got to have enough respect for voters that you tell people what
you believe and where you stand on the issues," Walsh said. "It's not
just good enough to be a candidate based on biography."
Walsh
also questioned why Duckworth was scheduled to speak at Santa Monica
College in California on Thursday, saying she should instead be meeting
with voters in the district. Walsh teamed with the Illinois Republican
Party to give away plane tickets to a GOP donor to attend the speech.
"It's
almost like she's this national celebrity who stays away from her own
district," Walsh said. "I just don't think voters are going to
appreciate that."
Duckworth, a former state and federal veterans
affairs official from Hoffman Estates, is challenging Walsh in the Nov.
6 election for Illinois' 8th Congressional District seat in the
northwest and west suburbs. The contest is nationally watched, given
Duckworth's ties to top Democrats including President Barack Obama and
U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin of Springfield and Walsh's status as a firebrand
tea party icon.
